Our History
A Legacy Built on Legal Excellence The firm was established in 1972 by Hon. Chief Barr. Andrew Olurinde Ogidan, following his call to the Nigerian Bar. He began his legal practice in Ikare-Akoko, Ondo State, where he built a distinguished career in legal practice and advocacy. A New Chapter in Akure In 2007, Chief Barr. Andrew Olurinde Ogidan relocated to Akure after becoming actively involved in politics. Following his call to the Bar in 2013, his son, Olumide Ogidan, took up the name and continued the legal practice. The practice commenced operations in Akure in 2017 and was formally registered in 2021, marking a significant new chapter in the firm's institutional development. Growing in Experience & Capacity Over the years, the firm has continued to expand its experience, capacity, and professional reach. Several lawyers have passed through the firm, contributing to its growth while gaining valuable practical experience across different areas of legal practice. Today, the firm comprises approximately seven lawyers, led by a Head of Chambers and supported by Senior Associates and Associates, working collaboratively to provide effective and professional legal services. Investing in the Next Generation Beyond serving clients, the firm is committed to developing future members of the legal profession. Each year, Law School externs and undergraduate law students join the firm through internship and externship programmes. Through these programmes, young aspiring lawyers gain practical experience in legal research, drafting, advocacy, and the day-to-day realities of legal practice.
